From the Architect:

This is a home for shared living for 2 households that sits sensitively in the woodland garden and is part of a wider community focus for growing, sharing and home school learning as well as bathing in the sauna and outdoor bath.

The house itself was to be light filled yet also cosy and enveloping. Mediating communal and private spaces through distillation of design with the shared core being timber lined and cosy, and the two separate living spaces having different characters so that the building design facilitates communication and invitation to join one another, between the two households in a simple and eloquent manner using sliding panels and limited views.
