BEST USE OF STONE - WINNER
From the Architect:
As a small space attention to detail was paramount. This involved working closely with the stone masons on site to achieve key and complex details. With folding screens disappearing into walls and fire glazing on the boundary walls there was much to talk about.
This wasn’t the environment for high minded architect egos, but a wholly collaborative approach involving craftspeople of considerable experience, reinforcing that design doesn’t stop at the layout but continues past the detail intent to physical realisation on site. This approach also resonated with the joiners who brought a cabinet making quality to their work to achieve hidden panels and doors that are flush with the timber lined rest room and kitchen.
